God Cabin

Finding Refuge in His Presence: The Invitation to God’s Cabin

Each day’s journey can often feel weary and burdened by the many challenges surrounding us. Too often, our walk becomes a journey about God rather than a journey with God.

Like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35), they conversed about what had happened in Jerusalem, yet their eyes were kept from recognizing Him. It was only when they invited Him to stay, when He broke bread and gave thanks, that their eyes were opened, and they finally recognized the risen Lord. We may find ourselves talking about the things of God—recounting events, sharing our disappointments, or reasoning through what we do not understand—while missing the very presence of Jesus who walks beside us.

Similarly, David, in the midst of his struggles and fears, found his refuge not in the absence of danger, but in the presence of the Almighty. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). His peace came from dwelling—from remaining close to God, not merely speaking of Him from a distance.

Now, we too are invited to begin our own journey—to dwell in the shelter of the Most High, to step into what we call the God Cabin. This God Cabin is a sacred, quiet space—a spiritual retreat where we withdraw from life’s noise and burdens to be still in the presence of God. It is a cabin of renewal, where our eyes are opened, our hearts are rekindled, and we find shelter, peace, and rest for the journey ahead.
